Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most common questions that we’ve been asked over the years.

If you have a question that isn’t covered here you can give us a call on 01482 643395 during office hours or send a message at all other times and we’ll get back to you quickly.

Will I get an email address with my website?

Yes you can have up to five email addresses with your website, for example info@yourbusinessname.co.uk, yourname@yourbusinessname etc. This includes a combined mailbox size of up to 2GB, if you need larger mailboxes this would incur an extra charge of £25 per year.

What if I or someone else has already bought my domain name?

This isn’t a problem, in most cases this is a simple process of pointing the A-Record of your domain to our server. If you’ve bought the domain yourself this means that you retain full control of the domain. If another web company or friend bought the domain for you it’s probably best that we transfer the domain into our control, this is usually a simple process and just means that we have more control over any technical issues that could arise in the future.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is the unique address that points to your website, for example ours is buzz-webdesign.co.uk. We include the cost of a .co.uk domain name in all our website packages and take care of buying the domain and making sure all renewal costs are paid.

We can help you choose the most appropriate available domain name for your business during our initial discussions.

Are there any hidden costs?

No, we have no hidden costs. You can see our three fixed priced website packages, if you want a one page, five page or ten page website package these are the prices you will pay in total. The price includes features like animated sliders, galleries, social media feeds and being responsive across all devices. If your website is for instance a seven page site we would supply you a quote (but it shouldn’t be difficult to work out yourself approximately what the cost would be!)

If you required additional functionality such as a measurement calculator or booking system for example this would be an additional cost. We would give you a quotation for this after our initial discussions.

What is Web Hosting?

Web hosting is basically renting the web space that is needed to publish you website online. This is usually paid for monthly or annually and is always required. You will see online offers for very cheap web hosting, these offers usually have various hidden extras that make that actual costs a lot more expensive.

I already have a website but would like it improving?

If you have all the relevant log-in details we are often able to help with this, however with a standard size website of say 5-8 pages it can often be more cost effective and easier to build a new site (using the content you already have), this will have the benefits of using more up to date technology behind it.

I already have a website but it doesn't perform very well on Google

We can have a look at it and in most cases improve the onsite SEO. We would need log-in details for your site and would quote on the work involved. With older sites that haven’t been built with SEO in mind, sometimes a very small amount of work can make a big difference.

Can I update the content on my website myself?

Yes you can easily update content yourself. Updating the content is as simple as using Microsoft Word or similar software… you can easily edit or add any text, blog posts or add images to galleries. Although you can do them yourself, we recommend that you leave more design based updates to us, for example home page sliders that are basically your ‘shop front’ and should look as professional as possible at all times.

Do you build Ecommerce websites?

Yes we build ecommerce websites, we can also add on online shop to your site a later date if that’s something that would suit you (often clients need to get an online presence but don’t have the budget for ecommerce straight away).

Our full on ecommerce packages start at £700+VAT but we have clients with very small basic ecommerce sites, for instance you may just have four products available. We would need to quote you for this kind of site but it could be as little as £200+VAT.

Our ecommerce sites come built in with the PayPal payment processor, other payment gateways are available but would be an additional cost.
